Frequently Asked Questions
What is BSA Standard Grade used for?
General cell culture supplementation, ELISA blocking, western blot blocking, assay buffer formulation and protein stabilisation. The most cost-effective BSA for high-volume routine applications.
What is the difference between Standard and Low Endotoxin BSA?
Standard Grade: standard endotoxin — suitable for routine cell culture, ELISA and western blot. Low Endotoxin: ≤1 EU/mg — required for endotoxin-sensitive applications, primary cells and cytokine assays where standard BSA endotoxin would interfere.
How do I dissolve BSA powder?
Add BSA powder to buffer or water at room temperature. Stir gently — do not vortex or heat. BSA is freely soluble at 200 g/L. Filter through 0.22 µm if sterility is required. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw of solutions.
