Product Overview
Pooled plasma combines material from many pre-screened donors. Averaging individual variability gives a homogeneous, large-volume matrix with stable protein concentrations and minimised lot-to-lot variation – the key requirement for IVD calibrator matrices.
Choosing the Anticoagulant
- EDTA – reference format for immunoassays and clinical chemistry: ELISA calibrators, lateral flow development, general IVD matrix.
- Citrate – reversible calcium chelation; required for PT, APTT, fibrinogen and factor activity assays.
- Heparin – thrombin inhibition without chelation; check compatibility with PCR-based assays.

Is NAT screening available?
Yes. Standard lots are serologically screened; NAT screening (HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA) is available on selected lots or on request.
Which anticoagulant should I choose?
EDTA for immunoassays and clinical chemistry, citrate for coagulation assays, heparin where chelation must be avoided. We advise on format selection at no charge.
