2D bioprocessing bags are flexible, single-use containment systems designed for the preparation, mixing, storage and transport of biopharmaceutical solutions, cell culture media, buffers and intermediate products. Unlike rigid glass or stainless steel vessels, 2D bags eliminate cleaning validation requirements, reduce cross-contamination risk and accelerate batch turnaround.
The flat, pillow-style geometry gives 2D bags a particular advantage for mixing applications: when placed on an orbital shaker or rocking platform, the large flat surface area promotes efficient mixing of powdered media, buffer constituents and other formulation components.
