Some cell types — particularly stem cells, primary cells and other difficult-to-culture lines — are considerably more sensitive to serum quality than routine, well-established cell lines. For these applications, batch performance can directly affect whether an experiment succeeds.

SeamlessBio FBS Premium is selected specifically for superior growth-supporting performance in these more demanding applications, and is held to tighter specifications than our Standard grade. While Standard FBS remains entirely suitable for robust, established cell lines, Premium is the more reliable choice wherever cell growth performance is a limiting factor.

For applications with a specific, defined sensitivity — such as IgG-sensitive antibody work or endotoxin-sensitive cultures — one of our specialised treatment grades may be even more targeted than Premium. Our team can help identify the right grade for your specific application.
