Human plasma differs from serum in that clotting factors remain present — anticoagulated with K2-EDTA, Li-Heparin or citrate depending on the downstream application. This makes it the correct matrix for IVD calibrators, controls and assay development where coagulation factor activity, intact complement proteins or other plasma-specific analytes are required.
For diagnostic manufacturers requiring larger volumes, we additionally offer apheresis-collected plasma — harvested via plasmapheresis rather than whole blood donation, allowing higher per-donor yields and more efficient bulk supply without compromising traceability or viral screening standards.
Beyond standard pooled material, SeamlessBio supplies single-donor units with full per-donor traceability for disease-state reference panels, and Type AB male plasma for CAR-T and ATMP applications where anti-A/B antibody interference must be eliminated.
